my mom was an artist and i learned so much from her about creativity, even in decorating. our living room had purple carpet and an incredible turquoise mid-century modern couch. the cushions were striped purple, green and turquoise- gorgeous and a bit outside the conventional decorating style. betty and all her creativity was so inspiring to me!
