acrylic mixed media on canvas. includes pastels, pencils, crayons, acrylic markers and a tiny bit of glitter.
after reading the biblical account of Jesus calming the storm on the sea of galilee and studying rembrandt’s famous painting i wanted to depict the story in abstract. although it is a dark, stormy painting there’s also peace. both are true at the same time. i’ve found this to be similar in the stormy seasons of my life. in the middle of the storm there is peace when i focus my heart and mind on Jesus.
